Top dollar for top-notch: Yildiz wants to extend deal with Juve, but under two conditions

To become the club's highest-paid player and receive guarantees about the Old Lady's lofty ambitions

Kenan Yildiz has been Juventus' most influential player by far, and it's hard to imagine where the Bianconeri would be without the Turk's impact.

Juve are currently fifth in the Serie A, just four points behind the leaders, Inter Milan, and an eventual victory against the relegation-strugglers Pisa might further bring them closer to the top of the table. In the Champions League, they are in the play-off zone, and the forward's six goals and as many assists in 22 games have significantly contributed to these results.

Hence, the Turin side cannot allow itself to lose him.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Yildiz has nothing against the idea of extending his contract - which expires in June 2029 - with the Old Lady, but under two conditions.

The forward reportedly wants to become the highest-paid player on the team and demands assurances about the club's lofty ambitions for the future.

The former Genoa sporting director, Marco Ottolini, is set to take on the same role at Allianz Stadium, and once he takes up his duties, the two parties will return to the negotiation table.

Yildiz currently earns €1.7 million per season, while the amount of €6 million would satisfy him.

Now, the ball is in Juve's court. Yes, the requested sum is quite high, but sometimes one has to give credit where credit is due and pay top dollar for a top-notch player.
