This man has something against Tottenham

In only two games, Eberechi Eze became Arsenal's third all-time leading scorer in North London Derbies, netting five of his six goals this season against the Spurs

There's a new name on Tottenham Hotspur's archenemies list. If he hasn't been added before - and there were reasons, that's for sure - yesterday he crossed the line. It's Eberechi Eze - the man who apparently has something against the Spurs.

Not only did he turn them down at the last minute last August, even though everything was set for his arrival, all to join the ranks of their biggest rival, but he also destroyed them in two North London Derbies this season, making them suffer the way they hadn't in over 90 years.

For the first time since the 1934/1935 season, Arsenal beat Tottenham by three goals in both their meetings in a single campaign. Back then, it was 5-1 and 6-0, and now 4-1 on both occasions.

Out of the eight goals the Gunners scored, Eze netted five (three in November and two last night), instantly reaching the third spot on the all-time list of Arsenal's scorers against the Spurs. Only Robert Pires (7) and Emmanuel Adebayor (6) are above him, while he is tied with Thierry Henry and Robin van Persie.

A renowned company, certainly. However, none of the mentioned Gunners' legends faced Tottenham less than seven times - the Togolese did it on seven occasions, while all the others are on double-digit numbers of duels - while Eze played only two North London Derbies. Hence, it's safe to say it's only a matter of time before he becomes Arsenal's most lethal firepower in the history of their clashes against the Spurs.

To make matters worse for the lads in white, the 27-year-old scored only six goals this season - five against them and one against his former team, Crystal Palace!

And even though Tottenham suffered numerous harsh blows during the previous two decades, such as losing the Champions League final in 2019, an 18-year trophyless spell, or this season's relegation battle, the guy in a red and white jersey with #10 on his back and a broad smile on his face will always remind them of some of most painful defeats, on and off the pitch - defeats to their greatest rival.
