
Thika Queens hammer Kangemi Ladies to reclaim third spot

A total of 20 goals were scored in six WPL matches this weekend
Thika Queens picked a comfortable 6-1 win over Kangemi Ladies in a Kenya Women Premier League match played at the Thika Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The win saw the Thika-based side reclaim their third spot, taking their points tally to 18, same as Gaspo Women who have a superior goal difference, and one point behind Vihiga Queens.
Chris Kach opened the scoring for Thika after just 17 minutes with Sarah Chalova doubling the advantage 10 minutes later but Fablasi Atieno scored in the 29th minute for Kangemi to make it 2-1.
Wendy Atieno made it 3-1 from the spot three minutes into the second half, with Chalova grabbing her second goal of the match and Thika's fourth a minute later, followed by Kach's second of the game and the fifth for Thika, with Stella Odhiambo hitting the sixth goal for Thika.
Nakuru City Queens 2-0 Trans Nzoia Falcons
At the Nakuru Show Ground, Nakuru City Queens saw off Trans Nzoia Falcons 2-0 to move to fourth on the log with 17 points courtesy of goals by Elizabeth Muteshi and Stacy Koech in the 18th and 90th minutes respectively.
Kisumu AllStarlets 4-0 Kayole Starlets
Elsewhere, Kisumu Allstarlets picked maximum points after drubbing Kayole Starlets 4-0 at the KCB Members Club.
Monica Etot grabbed a hattrick in the game, with Rose Oraro and Prudence Akinyi scoring a goal apiece to make it 4 for the visitors.
