LaLiga begins on Friday night with a clash between Osasuna and Sevilla

No, there's no mistake in the title. English Premier League might be the most attractive or the most competitive championship out there, but when it comes to conquering European titles, there's no better league than Spanish LaLiga.

The Spaniards have won more than half the UEFA trophies of the 21st century. Yes, 34 of the last 67 European titles.

That's why tonight, all eyes will be focused on the opening game of the LaLiga season, as Osasuna host Sevilla on Friday night at their El Sadar stadium.

Julen Lopetegui's slot is the favourite to win it and make an early statement in the championship in which Real Madrid are expected to win it all for the second time in a row.

The UEFA Super Cup victory against Eintracht Frankfurt demonstrated how good Carlo Ancelotti's boys truly are. On the other hand, their archrivals Barcelona are currently going through specific times as Joan Laporta is manoeuvring to keep them afloat despite the severe financial crisis.

As things stand at the moment, even their formidable signings, Christensen and Kessie, could possibly leave them before their debut game, scheduled for Saturday night at Camp Nou against Rayo Vallecano.

The reigning champions will kick start their campaign on the heated soil of the newly promoted UCD Almeria on Sunday night, while Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid are looking for a fresh start at Getafe the next day
