The club has announced a recruitment drive, a clear indication that they are preparing for a return into the Kenyan football scene
After almost a two year hiatus journey full of uncertainty, a white smoke can now be seen from Administration Police Bomet FC (APS) camp with the club preparing to storm back to the Kenya football scenes in full swing.
APS alongside Dimba Patriots, Mayenje Santos, Kona Rangers and Fortune Sacco were relegated to the lower tier leagues after they challenged a decision by Football Kenya Federation National Executive Committee to nullify the 2021-2022 season thus rendering their respective promotions invalid.
Contrary to reports that the Bomet based club were on the brink of folding, the club has announced a three-day long recruitment exercise as part of their preparation for the upcoming 2023-2024 season.
Confirming the latest development Aps team manager Bett Kipngetich noted that the club was ready to take part in any league as instructed by the country football governing body FKF.
"APS Bomet is back and the team is open to any competition as it will be decided by FKF," he told Mozzart Sport.
The trials will commence on Thursday 7 September at the Green Stadium in Bomet and will run to September 9 according to the club boss.
The recruitment drive is in line with the club's philosophy of exporting talents from grass root and giving them a platform at a bigger stage to further develop their gifts. Furthermore, the drive will be used to bolster the 2021-2022 National Super League champions squad after they lost a considerable number of their players to FKF Premier League sides.
Among the players to have made a move away from the club are striker Joseph Oyugi who inked a two year deal with Nzoia Sugar FC, defender George Onyango and custodian Erick Ongiri who are turning out for Premier League newbies Shabana FC.
"We are determined to gain promotion in a hit and this drive is an essential part of our strategy to gather competitive team for the upcoming campaign. We are looking for talented players who can significantly contribute to our targets and fill the voids left by the departed players," said Kipngetich.
The trials are open to players from across the country with aspiring footballers getting an opportunity to showcase their skills and impress the team's coaching staff.
The selection process will involve training drills, friendly matches and assessments by the technical unit with successful trialists putting pen to paper with the club.
