FKF Div One: Omax, Simba Apparel storm mini league final

Coastal teams lived to the hype in the on going Football Kenya Federation Division Two Northern Zone promotion playoff as they recorded wins to set up an all Coast final.

Pool A champions Omax FC drubbed Pool B and Embu based Dummen Orange 2-0 courtsey of Suleiman Japani and Riziki Bonde strikes in a match staged at the Ronald Ngala Ground.

The red hot Omax under the stewardship of Omar Ali Kalato proved too strong for the former FKF Division One side as Suleiman Japani Mwandilo broke the deadlock with three minutes on the clock from a Riziki Bonde delivery before the latter tapped in a loose ball from Ludovick Mwachofi cross to confirm the money bags spot in the last two.

The win was the beach boys twentieth victory in thirty two matches after an impressive run last season in the fourth tier that saw them drop maximum points once in the whole campaign.

Elsewhere, Simba Apparel EPZ Limited held on a first half goal to defeat EWASCO FC in another semi final staged at Makande Primary School Grounds.

The match was not short of controversies as EWASCO had four of their players declared ineligible for the tournament after they failed to produce FKF player registration cards despite being on the club's FIFA connect roster.

Collins Lumumba sixth minute strike was all coach Emmanuel Odhiambo needed to set up a thrilling encounter against their rivals Omax on Sunday afternoon.

National Super League sides jostling for highly rated keeper Ogweno

The overall winner of the two day tournament will get automatic promotion to the third tier though the runners up stand a chance of gracing the Division One Zone A league after deliberation from FKF Regional branch office as per Football Kenya Federation Northern Zone Secretary General Samuel Mwongela.

The finals are set for Ronald Ngala Grounds and will be curtain rised with a third place play off clash between the water boys (EWASCO) and Dummen Orange at the same venue.
