To host and have a successful tournament, countries are luring fans to fill stadiums, and part of that initiative is to make tickets affordable to ordinary citizens, especially with the hard economic times.

In that regard, Tanzania have announced the lowest ticket prices among the three nations hosting the championship.

Fans will be able to access the stadium and watch matches with as low as Tsh2,000 (approximately Ksh100) for regular tickets and Tsh5,000 (approximately Ksh250) for VIP B.

The highest ticket prizes will be those of VIP A, and will be going for only Tsh10,000 (approximately Ksh500)

Tanzanian Minister of Sports Professor Palamagamba Kabudi issued a rallying call to Tanzanians to maximize on the benefits CHAN.

“I urge all Tanzanians to turn out in large numbers to cheer for Taifa Stars and seize the economic and business opportunities that will arise from this major tournament,” said Kabudi.

The Kilimanjaro Stars have also heightened their preparation for the tournament by participating in the CECAFA Pre-CHAN tournament that is ongoing in Arusha, Tanzania.

Tanzania took on Uganda in their opening match, which they managed to squeeze a 1-0 victory over their neighbors.

Under the tutelage of coach Hemed Suleiman, Tanzania will face Burkina Faso in the first match of CHAN that will be held on 2 August at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, shortly after the opening ceremony.

The team will be banking on home advantage to at least reach the semi finals of the tournament, something they failed to do in their last two appearances.
