Real Madrid immediately responded with a lawsuit

Barcelona have been on the pole of shame for months, admittedly not without a reason. It is clear to everyone that Josep Maria Bartomeu is not the 'cleanest' of the characters. Real Madrid wisely remained silent, did not rejoice, and it will be difficult to find out whether they were enjoying in silence. However, now the scandals have spilled over to Madrid. More precisely, "state sewage" was poured on them.

Former police commissioner Jose Manuel Villarrejo, who was arrested in 2017 on suspicion of being part of a huge network of corrupt politicians, businessmen, police officers and journalists - hence the description of the "state sewer" that took root in the media at the time - accused Real's president Florentino Perez of bribing football referees even before Bartomeu.

"Florentino Perez was bribing referees before Barcelona did it... But he is untouchable. Whoever would dare to attack Florentino would 'commit suicide'... It is impossible to prosecute anything that affects Florentino Perez," said the controversial Villarrejo.

Now, Villarejo, as a former police commissioner, certainly knows a lot, but he is also known as the man whom that very "state sewage" sends to the public when it needs "the water muddied." The first man of La Liga, Javier Tebas, who is not exactly Florentino's friend, cautiously comments on these words.

"Villarejo said two things. First, that Florentino bribed the referees and is untouchable. As for the former, let him prove it. Villarrejo talks a lot, he has a well-known tactic, to accuse someone of incredible, damning things. That's why I often say that there are also journalists of the 'Villarejo style', first they make up a story and then go to court and prove that it is not so".

However, regarding this other matter, which the former Minister of Police, now late Alfred Perez Rubacalba, allegedly told Villarejo... That Florentino is untouchable?

"I believe in that. Because it wasn't just Villarrejo who said that, everyone in this country knows that. That is an objective fact. Rubacalba was even very good friends with Florentino, and that's all right for me."

Real Madrid, of course, categorically denied everything and immediately announced that they would sue Villarejo for false accusations and settle the case in court. Villarejo will also be sued by the president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, because the latter accused him of having "set up" former associate Sandro Rosell, who served almost two years in prison due to financial malversations.
