Ouma, who was making his third consecutive start in Europe’s third-tier competition, featured for the full 90 minutes but could do little to prevent a late collapse that saw Álvaro García snatch the winner deep into stoppage time.

The former Nairobi City Stars midfielder and his teammates had set out to claim a second straight victory and strengthen their hopes of advancing to the knockout round.

They started brightly, with Luis Plama combining well with Joel Pereira to open the scoring in the 11th minute.

Antoni Kozubal then doubled Lech’s advantage in the 39th minute, setting the Polish side on course for what looked like a famous away win.

However, the hosts fought back strongly after the break.

Isi PalazĂłn pulled one back for Vallecano in the 58th minute before Jorge de Frutos drew them level in the 83rd.

The turnaround was completed when GarcĂa struck in the 94th minute, condemning Ouma and his teammates to a gut-wrenching defeat.

Despite the loss, Ouma put in an encouraging individual performance, earning a 6.7 SofaScore rating.

He recorded 73% passing accuracy, produced one shot on target, made four clearances, and recovered possession twice, which was a solid display that shows his growing influence in Lech’s midfield.

Lech PoznaƄ have now played three Conference League matches, registering one win and two defeats.

They currently sit 23rd in the standings with three points and within reach of the playoff qualification zone.

Ouma has also been named in the Harambee Stars squad for their upcoming friendly matches against Madagascar and Senegal in Turkey later this month.
