Jesse Were came on to score as Zesco United beat Musa Mohammed's Lusaka Dynamos
Kenyan International Jesse Were came off the bench in the first half to head home as Zesco United beat compatriot Musa Mohammed's Lusaka Dynamos with a solitary goal to extend their lead at the summit.
The former Tusker FC man did not make the first eleven and had to settle for a place on the bench and was only introduced in the 36th minute for Luwawa Kasoma.
It took him only 8 minutes to rise the highest and head home score the lone goal.
Musa Mohammed got the chance to start at the heart of Lusaka Dynamos defence but could not help stop Were and Zesco and had to settle for the loss.
Ian Otieno, who started between the sticks, had a busy first half thwarting a string of attacks orchestrated by the Power Dynamos forward line. Zesco's win comes on the back of back-to-back losses in the league for the first time since January 2020.
The eight-times League winners have 8 games left to play and lead the table with 58 points, 8 more than second-placed Zanaco.
Another Kenya international John Mark Makwatta was missing altogether from Zesco's line-up.
