
STARS ABROAD: Ogam misses on matchday squad as Kenyans star overseas

Harambee Stars forward Ryan Ogam was not in the match day squad as his Austrian side Wolfsberger AC suffered a 3-1 loss to Altach in the Bundesliga.
This was the fourth consecutive league match where the Kenyan international has missed out on the match day squad and the fifth league match where he has not made an appearance.

The former Tusker FC forward last played for Wolfsberger in a Cup match against Amstetten where he started before being replaced at half time as his club left it late in extra time to claim a 3-2 victory.
Wolfsberger are currently sixth on the league table with 21 points and will face Ried in their next match on Saturday 29 November where Ogam will be hoping to feature.
In England, Harambee Stars prospect Zak Vyner played the full minutes as Bristol City secured a 3-0 victory over Swansea in the English Championship. The 27-year-old played on the left side of the three-man defense where he has predominantly featured throughout the season.
Bristol are fourth on the championship table with 26 points, four points off Middlesbrough who are second and on the automatic promotion slot.
Should they finish between second and sixth, Bristol will for the second consecutive time, compete in the Championship playoff.
Last season Bristol finished sixth and faced third-placed Sheffield United who defeated them in the semi final before Sheffield themselves suffered a 2-1 defeat to Sunderland who gained promotion to the English Premier League (EPL).
In League two, Harambee Stars defender Vincent Harper equally played full minutes and helped his side Walsall secure a 2-0 victory away to Harrogate.
The win shot Walsall to the top of the league table with 32 points, leapfrogging Swindon who were held to a 2-2 draw by Harambee Stars winger Clarke Oduor’s Grimsby.
Swindon have 31 points, one better than Bromley with the top three teams at the end of the season gaining promotion to League One.
In Poland, Eric ‘Marcelo’ Ouma’s Rakow Czestochowa hopes of lifting the league title suffered a major blow following a 3-1 home defeat to then bottom placed Piast Gliwise.
Ouma, who is still nursing an injury, was not in the squad. Following the loss, Rakow are fourth with 23 points, seven shy of league leaders Gornik Zabrze.
In the CAF Champions League (CAF CL), Duke Abuya played the entire match as Young Africans (Yanga) opened their Group B match with a 1-0 home victory over Moroccan side FAR Rabat courtesy of a 58th minute penalty by Prince Dube.
Yanga are now second in the group as Egypt’s Al Ahly demolished Algeria’s Kabylie 4-1 in the other group match of the day.
For Harambee Stars striker Moses Shummah, he played 79 minutes as his Zambian side Power Dynamos suffered a 3-0 defeat to Moroccan giants Berkane in their opening Group A match.
Power Dynamos are now at the bottom of the group that fetures defending champions Pyramids who also hammered Nigeria Rivers United 3-0.
In the CAF Confederation Cup (CAF CC), former AFC Leopards striker Elvis Rupia featured for 72 minutes as his Tanzanian club Singida Blackstars were humbled 2-0 by Algerian outfit CR Belouizdad in their opening Group C clash.
In the Tanzanian top tier former Harambee Stars coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno experienced heartbreak as his Tanzania Prisons side suffered a 1-0 defeat to Tabora United in a league match.
Kenyan defender Maurice Ojwang and Harambee Stars midfielder Michael Mutinda who joined the club in August together with Zico played the entire match while Henry Onyango was introduced in the 73rd minute.
Tanzania Prisons are 11th on the 16-team league table with six points from five matches.
Mashujaa are currently leading the Tanzanian league with 11 points from seven matches with Abuya's Yanga coming second with 10 points and three games in hand.
