Ogam, who featured prominently for Kenya in last month’s World Cup qualifiers against Burundi and Ivory Coast, scoring against the Swallows, was not deemed ready to start as Wolfsberger hosted Ried.
The hosts took control early when Dejan Zukic fired them ahead in the 20th minute, a lead they held until halftime.
But the second half belonged to Ried’s Zambian forward Kingstone Mutandwa, who came off the bench to score twice.
Mutandwa equalized in the 53rd minute before sealing the comeback win deep into stoppage time.
His second came from the penalty spot after Wolfsberger defender Cheick Mamadou Diabate was sent off for a reckless challenge inside the box.
The result ended Wolfsberger’s impressive unbeaten run, leaving them second on the table with 17 points from 10 games, one behind leaders Sturm Graz, who have two matches in hand.
Both Rapid Vienna and RB Salzburg, also on 17 points, can leapfrog them if they win their respective fixtures on Sunday.
Ogam, who made a brief 20-minute appearance before the international break, will now hope for a bigger role in upcoming matches as he continues to settle into Austrian football.
Thomas Otieno and Onyango feature in England
In England, Silko Thomas Otieno remained on the bench as Leicester City were held to a 1-1 draw by Portsmouth in the Championship.
Aaron Ramsey’s acrobatic effort gave the Foxes a first-half lead, but John Swift struck after the break to earn Pompey a share of the spoils.

The result leaves Leicester five points behind league leaders Coventry City, who extended their unbeaten run with a 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers.
Meanwhile, in League One, Tyler Onyango impressed in Stockport County’s 1-0 victory over Exeter City, putting in a tireless shift as a right wing-back.
The former Everton youth player combined defensive discipline with attacking purpose, completing a key pass, two recoveries, and a vital interception.
Nathan Lowe’s first-half strike proved decisive in a match that kicked off late due to traffic congestion around Edgeley Park.
In League Two, Clarke Oduor was an unused substitute as Grimsby Town edged Gillingham 1-0.
The visitors finished with nine men after two red cards, and Charles Vernam’s 58th-minute penalty secured all three points for the Mariners.
