Kenyan defender Daniel Anyembe featured for Esbjerg in the 4-0 defeat to Viborg in the Danish 1st Division Promotion Playoffs.

Anyembe failed to start in the clash but was handed a chance for an early appearance after Jeppe Brinch was rested in the 29th minute.

Coach Olafur Kristjánsson opted for a change in formation with Clinton Antwi also thrown into the foray with Kevin Conboy also withdrawn.

The substitutions came after Justin Lonwijk had opened the scoring in the 16th minute and doubled his tally in the 32nd minute.

Esbjerg were unlucky to go a man down in the 67th minute when Rodolph Austin was handed his marching orders for a second bookable offence.

The red card opened the floodgates as Sebastian Gronning Andersen put the game beyond Esbjerg in the 77th minute with Viborg’s third of the game.

Younes Bakiz drilled the final nail in Esbjerg coffin with six minutes left on the clock as Viborg extended their lead at the summit of the table to 10 points.
