Jesse Were played for the final ten minutes for Dynamos.
Dennis Ng’ang’a and John Ochieng both featured for their Zambian club, Zanaco FC, as they overcame Kansanshi Dynamos 1-0 in a league match played on Saturday afternoon.
Whereas Ng’ang’a played for 90 minutes, Ochieng was taken off in the 65th minute for Jonathan Manongo. Charles Zulu’s first-half goal was enough to lead Zanaco to a decisive win. Former Kenyan international Jesse Were came in for the final ten minutes for Kansanshi but was unable to inspire his side to pick something out of the game.
Elsewhere, Samwel Onyango was once again left out of the matchday squad as his club, the Kabwe Warriors, went down 1-0 to the Green Buffaloes at home.
In England, Adam Wilson Ayiro was introduced in the 84th minute as his team, Bradford City, fell 2-1 to Barrow. Clarke Oduor was not named in the squad.
Barrow went ahead inside the first minute through Dom Telford before City leveled the encounter thanks to Tyler Smith's equalizer in the 33rd minute. George Ray’s 77th-minute strike then won it for the visiting team.
It was new coach Graham Alexander’s first game in charge of the Bantams, and he admits that going down early affected their game plan.
“When you concede early, your gameplan can go out of the window, but we slowly came back into the match, and then we had to adjust due to the injuries we suffered,” he told the club website.
“At halftime, we were able to get some feedback from the players, but life is not fair, and neither is football. We have to take it on the chin and move on.”
In Armenia, Alywn Tera started and played for 58 minutes as his club, Ararat-Armenia, beat Shirak Gyumri 2-0 in a league match. Leo Silva opened the scoring in the 62nd minute before Jonathan Duarte added a second in the 86th minute.
Compatriot Amos Nondi missed the game through suspension.
