The pair, who ply their trade with Ararat Armenia, were involved in a tense second-leg semifinal against Pyunik Yerevan, ultimately prevailing on post-match penalties.

Carrying a 2-0 advantage from the first leg, Ararat needed a lucky break from the penalty spot after surrendering their advantage in normal time.

Pyunik took a 41st-minute lead through Anton Bratkov, before getting a priceless equaliser from a João Queiros own goal just seven minutes after the break.

When the penalties came calling, however, Ararat keeper Henri Avagyan was the star of the show, saving twice to see his side win 4-2, and now go a step closer to adding to their Armenia Super Cup won earlier this month.

Tera was left on the bench in the deciding tie, while Nondi was introduced in the 89th minute, playing a total of 32 minutes of added time.

And whilst the club might miss out on the league title this season, a cup double will be looming when they play the winner of Van and Noah FC.

League-leaders Noah carry a 2-0 lead heading to Wednesday evening’s semifinal second-leg.
