After Eze’s move to Arsenal, another key player from the London club now has the possibility of leaving, this time to Liverpool
Crystal Palace find themselves in a tense situation over the future of centre-back Marc Guehi, as manager Oliver Glasner and chairman Steve Parish appear to be at odds.
The 25-year-old England international has recently attracted growing interest from Premier League champions Liverpool, with the Reds seeing him as a potential long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk, now 34.
Guehi has less than a year remaining on his Selhurst Park contract. Palace reportedly value him at around 45 million euros, though Liverpool view that price as high, knowing he could leave for free next summer. Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing and expected to continue over the coming days.
After Palace’s 1-0 Europa Conference League play-off win against Fredrikstad on Thursday, Parish suggested that selling Guehi might be unavoidable.
"If Marc Guehi wants to sign a contract, he can stay," the chairman said. "It's a difficult situation, everyone has to sell players to comply with the rules. That's a situation that we will have to look at in the next days."

Just minutes earlier, Glasner had offered a contrasting view during his post-match press conference, insisting Guehi "has to stay" and even joking that he might have to step in himself amid Palace’s centre-back struggles.
"We are very, very late to find replacements," the Austrian admitted. So far this summer, the Eagles have only secured Borna Sosa from Ajax and goalkeeper Walter Benitez on a free transfer. Meanwhile, talisman Eberechi Eze looks set to depart, with a move to Arsenal reportedly imminent. Eze was absent from Thursday’s Conference League clash due to illness.

Glasner acknowledged that Eze is unlikely to play for Palace again. "He doesn't feel well," Glasner said.
Pressed further on Eze’s absence, he told Channel 5: "Ebs will not play for us anymore so it does not make sense to talk about him. It's gone."
