The Red Devils have reportedly reached an agreement with Atalanta regarding the transfer of Brazilian midfielder Ederson, worth around €40 million

A natural replacement at Old Trafford: one Brazilian midfielder leaves, the other one arrives.

Many wondered how Manchester United would cope with Casemiro's departure, especially after the 34-year-old rolled back the years in recent months, reminding everyone of his best days at Real Madrid. Still, the club reacted quickly and wasted little time identifying his successor, who will undoubtedly have big shoes to fill.

According to The Athletic, the Red Devils have reached an agreement with Atalanta regarding the transfer of midfielder Ederson, who will move to Old Trafford for €40.5 million plus €4.5 million in potential add-ons.

The 26-year-old will reportedly sign a four-year contract with an option to extend it for a further year. He's likely to undergo medical tests in the upcoming period, while the deal is expected to be made official in early July.

Ederson - who failed to make Carlo Ancelotti's preliminary 55-man Brazil World Cup squad - has been on Man United's wishlist for some time now, and they eventually landed him for a relatively reasonable price, given that his contract with Atalanta was about to expire in June 2027.
