Sharks have now lost five matches this season

Promising Kariobangi Sharks midfielder Fortune Omoto has attributed their 1-0 loss in the hands of Nairobi City Stars on Saturday afternoon to lack of cutting edge in the final third.

City Stars condemned Sharks to their fifth loss of the season at Kasarani Annex, complicating their chances of catching up with log leaders Kakamega Homeboyz as well disrupting their plan to start the second leg on a winning note.

Omoto who has thus proven to be one of the season's revelations while expressing displeasure with the manner in which they lost the match said they wasted clear cut chances in either halves.

Their wastefulness was punished by the experienced Ezekiel Odera who made the difference in the match in the 63rd minute after kissing the back of Brandon Obiero's net.

"We played well but we weren't clinical in front of the goal. We created chances but somehow we did not make them count. We didn't deserve to leave the pitch empty handed going by the way we expressed ourselves but that is the nature of football," he said.

Omoto who has two goals and a couple of assists against his name in his maiden season in the top flight backed the former Cup holders to bounce back to winning ways when they tackle Kenya Police in their next game.

The former Nairobi Stima man who came through the Sharks youth system ranks in the meantime believes he has what it takes to hit double digits this season.

The former national U20 player who has won the confidence of coach William Muluya says hard work and discipline are what he needs to reach his individual target.

"We have to forget about the last game and focus on the next one. However, we have to work the mistakes we made that cost us three points. I am liking the top flight challenge and the trust from the technical bench. I want to score at least ten goals this season, " he added.
