It has not all been rosy for the former Soy United winger, as he has been on the receiving end of Gor Mahia fans when he suffered a dip in form.

Musa has been a revelation for K’Ogalo this season, lethal in taking on defenders and an integral figure in attack, including scoring the second goal of their 2-0 win over Kenya Police FC and for his efforts, earned a Harambee Stars call-up.

However, it has not all been rosy for the former Soy United winger, as he has been on the receiving end of Gor Mahia fans when he suffered a dip in form.

Speaking to the media during Harambee Stars' final training session in Kenya on Tuesday, 11 November at the Nyayo National Stadium, the pacy winger, for the first time, opened up on how he coped with criticism.

“Only a tree that bears fruit gets stoned. In the life of a human being, there are high and low moments, and in order to grow, you have to take the low moments positively and work on a comeback,” said Musa.

Musa, who is back in the national team fold since his maiden call-up back in 2023, also revealed the difficulty of capturing the attention of national team coaches.

“It is very competitive to get to the national team because it is the dream of every footballer to represent their country.

If your form dips, there is always someone on form and ready to be called up, and so I have been working hard to get called up again,” he added.

Additionally, the former Kariobangi Sharks winger weighed in on the prospect of working with Kenya head coach Benni McCarthy.

“Everyone wants to associate themselves with success and a successful person. McCarthy was great as a player and now as a coach, and so to work under someone who understands the game is always a motivation.”

Musa will be hoping to earn his first international caps when Kenya plays Equatorial Guinea and Senegal on Friday, 14 November and Tuesday, 18 November, respectively.
