The central defender was stretchered off in their 3-1 win over Bidco United with a suspected muscle cramp

Gor Mahia can sit pretty as Haron Shakava is expected to resume training before their weekend match against Congo Boys in a Football Kenya Federation Shield Cup match.

The burly central defender was stretchered off in their 3-1 win over Bidco United on Monday in a league match played at the Karasani Annex with Charles Momanyi replacing him.

Shakava who was handed the armband last week was feared to be an injury doubt for the round of 64 match but according to the club's assistant coach Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo, the injury was not horrid.

Pamzo said the Harambee Stars defender sustained a muscle cramp that would subside within two days.

"He should be fit for the Shield Cup match. The injury wasn't as serious as earlier thought but we will assess him before we start our preparations for the match," he said.

Meanwhile, the club vice-chairman Francis Wasuna has cleared the air on the whereabouts of Boniface Oluoch who is said to have been jettisoned from the squad.

The custodian was left out against Bidco fueling speculations on his future at the club.

Wasuna revealed that the former Stars goalkeeper was excused to attend to personal matters and will is scheduled to resume training next week.

The administrator's assurance comes barely a day after coach Carlos Vaz Pinto admitted to lack answers on Oluoch's fate at the club.

"He has not been dropped neither do we have plans to part ways with him. He asked for permission to follow up on personal issues and we expect him to join the rest in training after the trip to Mombasa," he assured.
