Senegal thrashed England and sent a clear warning to Tuchel

In a friendly match in Nottingham, the Senegal national team outplayed the England side with a 3–1 victory

Senegal put on an excellent performance in the friendly match against England and defeated the English national team. This result serves as a warning for England ahead of the continuation of the World Cup qualifiers, while also providing a major boost of confidence for the African side.

The first half at Nottingham saw an energetic and entertaining contest between England and Senegal, with both teams creating several chances and showing attacking intent from the outset.

Senegal started brightly, with Idrissa Gueye testing Dean Henderson as early as the 2nd minute. Gueye found space and unleashed a low long-range effort, but Henderson was up to the task, making a fine save. Just three minutes later, Nicolas Jackson nearly put Senegal ahead with a powerful shot from the edge of the box, only to be denied once again by a spectacular save from the England goalkeeper.

Despite Senegal's early pressure, it was England who struck first. In the 7th minute, Harry Kane pounced on a rebound inside the box and fired a low shot inside the right post to give England a 1–0 lead. You can see the goal HERE!

Senegal kept pushing for an equalizer. In the 11th minute, Habib Diarra attempted a long-range strike towards the top right corner, but Henderson made a routine save. Five minutes later, Ismaila Sarr came closest for the visitors, connecting with a cross and directing a close-range header toward the bottom left corner, but Henderson once again came to England’s rescue with a stunning save.

England had their own attacking moments, most notably in the 28th minute when Anthony Gordon made a surging run into the box and unleashed a powerful shot that narrowly missed the target.

Senegal’s persistence paid off in the 40th minute. Nicolas Jackson set up Ismaila Sarr with a clever pass inside the area, and Sarr made no mistake, finishing clinically into the bottom left corner to bring the score to 1–1 just before halftime.

The second half opened with renewed energy from both sides, and it didn’t take long for the action to ignite. In the 62nd minute, Habib Diarra gave Senegal the lead. Dean Henderson had no chance as Senegal took a 2–1 lead. You can see the goal HERE!

England responded swiftly. Just three minutes later, Morgan Gibbs-White latched onto a clever defense-splitting pass and fired a low shot toward the middle of the goal, but Edouard Mendy reacted well to make a routine save.

In the 68th minute, England came close again. Bukayo Saka found space inside the area and drilled a quick low shot toward the bottom left corner, forcing Mendy into an excellent diving save. The resulting pressure earned England a corner.

Senegal weren’t done either. In the 72nd minute, Nicolas Jackson tried his luck from long range, aiming for the bottom left corner, but Henderson was alert and collected the shot comfortably.

The drama peaked in the 84th minute, when Jude Bellingham pounced on a rebound deep inside the box following a corner and smashed a sharp shot past Mendy. England thought they had equalized, but the celebrations were short-lived. Referee Frappart signaled for a VAR review to check for a possible handball in the build-up. After a brief review, the goal was disallowed, and England were denied the equalizer.

To make matters worse for England, at the end of the game Cheikh Sabaly received a pass from Lamine Camara inside the penalty area and calmly slotted the ball into the bottom right corner. The goal is HERE!
