Liverpool forward took to social media to show his gratitude to the Colombian winger, who has joined Bayern Munich after three years at Anfield
Modern football is like that - players come and go, and even if you get emotionally attached to a certain club or fanbase, the day will come when you'll have to say goodbye and get over it.
Still, sometimes the trace you leave behind is just too strong and vivid for both you and your teammates to just leave it that way. That's precisely what happened to Luis Diaz amid his Liverpool exit, as he has joined Bayern Munich on a permanent deal from Anfield.
The 28-year-old Colombian winger spent three years as a Red, and he was one of the most loved faces in the Scousers' locker room. That's why Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah said his final goodbye to Diaz via social media in a very emotional post.
Salah took to X to show his gratitude to Luis Diaz, concluding that he and his teammates were lucky enough to have him at Liverpool.
"Your energy, drive, and passion on the pitch have left a mark that won't be forgotten. We were truly lucky to have you at Liverpool, and it's been an honour to share part of your journey and success story.
"As a teammate, you were more than reliable - you were inspiring. As a friend, even more so.

"We all saw the strength it took to keep going through the tough times off the pitch," wrote Salah, referring to the kidnapping of Diaz's father, before adding: "What you went through would've broken most, but you came back strong and gave everything for the club. That kind of resilience sets an example for others and earns nothing but respect.
"I wish you all the best for what's next, Lucho," said Salah before concluding, in Spanish, "Keep making your people proud."
Diaz responded shortly, thanking the Egyptian for such kind words.
