Marc Brys made sure he settled the score with the man who fired him, revealing the details of their terrible relationship and Eto'o's appalling behaviour

An earthquake occurred in Cameroon yesterday, and the ground is still shaking. Just a day after the Indomitable Lions head coach, Marc Brys, was sacked by the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) president, Samuel Eto'o, and the new boss, David Pagou, announced the Africa Cup of Nations squad without Andre Onana and the captain, Vincent Aboubakar, the Belgian strategist spoke out.

Speaking to VTM Nieuws from his homeland, Brys revealed the details of his troubled relationship with Eto'o and the African football legend's appalling behaviour.

"I have other ambitions than being constantly on edge. It's too aggressive, too deceptive. I've had enough. Too much negativity to be able to work properly. Eto'o has always tried to get rid of me as quickly as possible. From the very first minute, he insulted me, and I reacted. I was too big a threat to him," he said via RMC Sport.

Still, the 63-year-old doesn't consider his spell at the Indomitable Lions' bench a dreadful experience. On the contrary.

"It was a valuable lesson for me. I recommend it to everyone, but it shouldn't last too long. Either you're afraid and don't want to get involved in this fight, or you see it as an enriching experience. Becoming the coach of Cameroon was a challenge for me," Brys concluded.
