Ruthless Bavarians dismantle Leipzig, as Olise, Diaz & Kane run riots

Vincent Kompany's team opened the new Bundesliga campaign with a crushing performance and a 6-0 win in a derby, while Kane bagged a hat-trick between 64th and 78th minutes

If anyone wondered if Bayern Munich are on the same level as last season, the answer came already in the opening round of the new Bundesliga edition, as the Bavarians smashed RB Leipzig 6-0, handing them the toughest league defeat in their history!

Vincent Kompany's crew had a 3-0 lead already at the break, Michael Olise completed a first-half brace, and Luis Diaz netted his maiden goal in the German top tier. Everything functioned perfectly.

After the break, the crowd witnessed a one-man show courtesy of Harry Kane. The Englishman bagged a hat-trick between the 64th and 78th minute (?!), proving he's ready to break more records.

In the end, Bayern's dreamy opening of the new season was Leipzig's nightmare from which they'll try to wake up as soon as possible.

Over 75,000 people at Allianz Arena had to sit through incredibly dull 25 minutes to finally see a chance. Joshua Kimmich sent a perfect pass for Harry Kane, who attempted with a first-touch shot, but it went wide of RB Leipzig's right post.

Still, two minutes later, the visitors couldn't be saved! Following a nice Bavarians' action, Michael Olise received the ball on the right side of the box and smashed it into Peter Gulacsi's net to make it 1-0 and open his scoring account in the new Bundesliga season.

Minutes later, Manuel Neuer was forced to react after Leipzig captain David Raum's attempt. In the 32nd minute, it was already 2-0 for Bayern! Serge Gnabry made a magnificent backheel assist, and Luis Diaz scored his maiden goal in the German top flight.

Ten minutes later, Olise completed a brace and, at the same time, Leipzig's absolute disaster in the first half at Allianz Arena. The Red Bulls were 3-0 down with the entire second half to play, and their future in this match didn't look bright at all.

The home crew was expectedly much more relaxed after the break and their convincing lead allowed them to be complacent. At the same time, Leipzig raised their level, trying to avoid a complete embarrassment. Antonio Nusa made a solid effort in the 61st minute, but his shot from the edge of the area went narrowly wide of Neuer's left post.

On the other hand, Bayern relied on counters, and after one such in the 64th minute, Harry Kane exploited Diaz's timely pass to score his first goal of the season and make it 4-0.

Two minutes later, Nusa found the net, but his goal was disallowed, while Kompany made as many as four subs at the same time (?!) which also proved that he felt as relaxed as it gets. And he could feel even better after Kane completed a brace in the 74th minute, making Gulacsi take the ball out of his net for the fifth time tonight.

England captain apparently decided to exploit his moment to the fullest and prove that the second half belonged to him and no one else, completing a hat-trick in the 78th minute! And the fact that only 14 minutes passed between his first and third goals shows his pure class.

Kane's final goal set the final score 6-0, put an end to Leipzig's misery, and completed Bayern's dreamy night.
