Harry Kane is complaining about a lack of players in the squad, so the German club has sprung into action to finally bring someone in

Harry Kane may have lifted the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup with FC Bayern Munich, but the striker’s joy was short-lived. Following the 2-1 victory over Stuttgart, Kane didn’t hold back, publicly calling for reinforcements and highlighting the squad’s limited depth.

Speaking candidly in the locker room after the match, he said: "It's probably one of the smallest squads I've ever played in. We're a bit thin on the ground, but that's not within the players' control."

The context is clear: Bayern have lost Kingsley Coman to Al-Nassr 35 million euros including bonuses, Leroy Sane to Galatasaray (free transfer), Thomas Muller to Vancouver (free), and face the long-term absence of Jamal Musiala due to a broken fibula and ligament injuries. For Kane, the team isn’t yet equipped to compete on all fronts. So far, Bayern have only brought in winger Luis Diaz from Liverpool for about 68 milion euros, which Kane feels isn’t enough.

Pressure on the management is mounting. Bayern’s sporting director Christoph Freund acknowledged movement at Friday’s press conference: "The quality is very, very high, the quantity is lower. There are still two weeks of transfer time. We're keeping our eyes open and don't want to rule anything out."

According to BILD, Christopher Nkunku is now on Bayern’s radar. The French attacker, who moved from Leipzig to Chelsea for 60 milion euros in 2023, could be available for around 35 million euros. Max Eberl has reportedly already held talks with Nkunku’s agent, though Chelsea recently pulled back from a deal.

Meanwhile, Bayern’s hoped-for striker addition, Nick Woltemade, is no longer an option. VfB Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth confirmed: "We now have solid facts. Nick will stay in Stuttgart beyond the summer and continue on the path with us. The topic is off the table for this calendar year."

CEO Alexander Wehrle added: "We clarified it with Bayern during the week. That's why the file is closed. So it's done."
