Ruiru finished fourth in their maiden season in the third tier, third in the next and were ranked fifth last season

Ruiru Hotstars are looking to sign at least ten new players ahead of the 2023-2024 Football Kenya Federation Division One Zone A season.

The team has been conducting trials at their backyard in a bid to tap in new talents who will replace those who have left the club for various reasons.

Coach Suleiman Ngotho revealed that the team had lost key players to Naivas and Rainbow who are preparing for their first season in the National Super League and thus, the need to bring in new ones.

Ngotho, further said that the team had not fully replaced the four players the team lost to Nairobi United and other clubs in the course of the past campaign.

"Already, there are players who are trying their luck with us. We are planning to replace those who left as well as strengthen the areas that let us down last season," said the former Thika United captain.

Ngotho has been in charge since early 2022 following the exit of Simon Mbugua who ditched the club for Nairobi United but has since relocated to the U.K.

Meanwhile, Ngotho is confident of helping the club gain promotion to the second tier at the end of the season.

Ruiru finished fourth in their maiden season in the third tier and came close in the following season as they placed third. The team was ranked fifth last season despite starting well in the first leg.

“We have ironed some of the issues that cost us last season. The office and community have promised to back us throughout the season. I am sure we will get it right this season," said the former Posta Rangers defender.
