The Brazilian has shown signs of disrespect towards the Real Madrid boss and questioned his authority on several occasions before the latest one during El Clasico
We saw the anger of Vinicius Junior following Xabi Alonso's decision to substitute him off during the latest El Clasico. And we read about the possible war between the two of them that could even end in Vini's Real Madrid exit.
What we didn't know - or at least the vast majority of us around the world - is that the rift actually started months ago. Vinicius Junior and his unique personality created several issues even before Xabi Alonso's arrival, which resulted in a calm before the storm.
According to Spanish media, the first issue between them had already occurred in the United States during the Club World Cup.
Alonso apparently intended to drop Vinicius before the semi-final clash with Paris Saint-Germain, but he had to change his plans following Trent Alexander-Arnold's injury. Cadena SER reports that the drama was almost palpable after Vinicius reacted badly to Alonso.
Since that moment, the Brazilian has shown signs of disrespect and questioned Real Madrid's boss's authority in front of everyone on several occasions. It culminated during El Clasico, with Xabi Alonso deciding to sub on Rodrygo for Vinicius in the 72nd minute.
Vini Jr reacted while coming off, thus kickstarting talks about his possible leave in the foreseeable future.
