Dandora finished 15th last season with 37 points.

Dandora Youth faithful can afford a sigh of relief as the Football Kenya Federation Appeals Committee quashed a decision by the FKF Leagues and Competitions Committee to dock the club six points.

The Competitions Committee had slapped the club with the penalties for failing to produce an alternative venue for their match against Liberty Sports Club in the concluded season.

The sanctions saw Dandora get relegated as the docked points pushed the club down to the red zone.

The Skyward powered outfit however, unpleased with the judgement successfully challenged the decision.

As per the decision released on Monday and seen by Mozzart Sport, the committee notes that both Dandora Youth and Liberty Sports Academy turned up for the match and therefore article 3.1.7 of FKF rules was not violated.

However, the Dandora admitted to have consequently forfeited the match in violation of article 3.3.2, 3.3.3 and 3.4.1 of the rules and regulations governing Kenyan Football (2019).

The Janet Atisya-headed committee upheld Dandora’s appeal though the decision to award Liberty two goals and three points stand as well as sanction under article 3.1.10.1 to dock the former six points and four goals from those already accumulated was set aside.

"That the decision of The FKF Leagues and Competition committee dated 28/7/2023 is partially amended herein.

i. The sanction under Article 3.3.3 to award 2-0, 3 points basis to Liberty Sports FC is upheld

ii. That the sanction under Article 3.1.10.1 to dock (6) points and four (4) goals from those already accumulated or to be accumulate in the event that the defaulting club is a home club was misapplied as both teams turned up and were present at the venue for the match. Therefore, the decision to dock six (6) points and four (4) goals against the Appellant is set aside." Read part of the decision statement.

In yet another interesting twist of events, FKF Leagues and Competitions committee head Doreen Nabwire confirmed the development though noted that Dandora had admitted to violating other regulations and therefore stand relegated as the committee will further sanction them for violation of Article 3.3.2, 3.3.3 and 3.4.1 of the Rules and Regulations Governing Kenyan Football.

"We have received the decision of the FKF Appeals Committee though it is good to note that the team still stands relegated as they admitted to have violated other articles that give my office powers to further sanction them," she told Mozzart Sport.
