Both teams have strengthened their squads in the mid-season transfer window and are expected to do more business before the month concludes
Posta Rangers and KCB FC will seek to bounce back to winning ways when the two sides collide on Tuesday at Kasarani Annex.
The fixture was originally scheduled for Monday, but was postponed by a day due to the unavailability of a suitable venue.
Both teams will head to the encounter, scheduled to kick off at 3 pm, seeking redemption.
Posta Rangers were held to a 1-1 draw by Kariobangi Sharks in their Round of 16 fixture, while KCB suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Nairobi United in a rescheduled mid-week match.
Following that loss, KCB assistant coach Paul Ogai admitted that his side’s biggest challenge remains their lack of goals, an area he insists must be addressed urgently.
The Bankers have managed just 16 goals so far this season.
“Our biggest undoing and what we need to work on is scoring more goals. Looking at our forward line, it is an area we need to improve.
So we will have a consultative meeting and see where we need to improve, and soon you may see new faces. Generally, we played well, but you cannot say it was good because we did not win,” he said.
The fixture has produced mixed results in recent seasons.
Last term, both teams registered a win apiece.
KCB claimed a 3-0 victory in the first leg, before the Mailmen responded with a 2-1 win in the return fixture.
Both sides have been active in the January transfer window.
KCB have strengthened their squad with the signings of: Francis Kahata, David Sakwa, and Victor Okello.
Posta Rangers, on their part, have brought in Reagan Ogola and Veron Ombima but have suffered major setbacks after losing Jackson Dwang to Gor Mahia and releasing Brian Otieno, whose future now lies elsewhere.
