Los Blancos are looking for another player to strengthen their attack

With Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior leading the line, Real Madrid already boasts one of the most dangerous attacking duos in world football. But it seems the club isn’t quite done yet. According to Spanish outlet AS, Los Blancos are actively scanning the market for a center-forward to round out their squad.

A new striker isn’t at the top of the club’s to-do list, but there's recognition within the Real Madrid hierarchy that the team lacks a traditional No. 9. The ideal target? A seasoned forward who can contribute immediately, won’t break the bank, and is willing to accept a rotational role—much like Joselu, who fit that mold perfectly last season. He embraced a backup role and still delivered when called upon.

The same report claims that new manager Xabi Alonso has his eye on a familiar name: Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian is reportedly on Madrid’s radar after a disappointing stint in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ahli, where he was sidelined in the second half of the campaign due to foreign player limits. Although under contract until 2026, Firmino is believed to be open to a move.

Another option being considered is Ante Budimir from Osasuna. The Croatian striker had a strong season with 24 goals and already knows LaLiga inside and out. While his contract runs until 2027 and his market value stands at 5 millions, a release clause is believed to set his price at around 8 millions.

And don’t rule out a homegrown solution. Promising youngster Gonzalo Garcia might be given the opportunity to break into the first team. The club could see next season as the right time to give him a shot at senior-level football.
