The striker has two goals to his name this season and recently scored in a midweek friendly game

Posta Rangers striker Patrick Otieno hopes to mark his return to action with a goal when the Mailmen play FC Talanta this weekend in round seven of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League.

Otieno missed Posta's last league game against Nzoia Sugar played at the Kasarani Annex due to a hamstring injury he picked up in round five against the Kariobangi Sharks.

Before the injury struck, Otieno had scored in back-to-back league matches against the Sharks and debutant Murang'a Seal, goals that earned Posta maximum points in either match.

Otieno revealed that club medics had cleared him to contest for game time this weekend, where Posta will be seeking to register their sixth straight win and extend their stay at the top.

"I am fully fit and looking forward to this weekend's duel against Talanta. I want to pick from where I left and help the team extend the good start," said the former Sharks forward.

Posta and record champions Gor Mahia are the only sides yet to lose a game this season, with John Kamau's boys being the most impressive so far.

Posta have conceded a goal and dropped points once after recording a barren draw in the first game of the season against Bidco United.

Otieno managed to test his fitness levels during Posta's friendly match on Wednesday, where the mailmen won 3-1.

Otieno, who joined Rangers last year, was on target in the game, with Brian Otieno and Curtis Wekesa adding the other goals.

"I drew lessons and confidence from the game. I will prepare for the Talanta game with the belief that my name will be on the score sheet," said the former Nzoia Sugar winger.
