The youngster will receive full club's support over his illegal betting

For days, the central topic of the Italian sports press and media is betting on the black market. The most involved in illegal activities were Sandro Tonali, Niccolò Zaniolo, i.e. the young footballer of Juventus Niccolò Fagioli. The Italian Football Federation sanctioned Fagioli with a seven-month ban from playing football, which means that the 22-year-old from Piacenza will miss the current season. Theoretically, he could be on the field at the end of May (Bologna - Juventus match on May 19, and Juventus - Monza on May 26), but what coach would decide to activate a "rusty" player at the end of the season after so much abstinence.

Fagioli illegally placed bets through third parties and unauthorized persons, both on Serie A matches in which he plays, and on matches of the lower ranks of professional Italian football, as well as on other European leagues. He was therefore disqualified for 12 months, but will serve only seven as five months are offset by his voluntary participation in treatment for gambling addiction. He was also fined 12,500 euros, which a pittance compared to the sums is mentioned that he lost on the black market - about 2,500,000 euros.

Recently, when Paul Pogba was at the center of the doping scandal, Juventus decided to suspend the Frenchman and, until the situation is resolved, they banned him from accessing the club's premises, the training center, and all facilities belonging to the black and whites. And he is forbidden to contact anyone from the top of the club. The reverse is also true. Juventus, therefore, "banned" the Frenchman from the club until further notice.

With Fagioli, the story is different. The Bianconeri are fully behind their midfielder and despite the suspension, the 22-year-old will be a full member of the team. He will train with the first team, he will be paid his full salary, unlike Pogba, who was reduced to a minimum of 2,000 euros per month. The club decided to support a guy who found himself in a difficult life situation and therefore Fagioli will be allowed to attend Juventus matches and support the team as a fan until his suspension runs out.
