Kenya were reduced to ten men midway through the first half after Marvin Nabwire received a straight red card, but the team showed resilience and steel to mount a comeback from a goal down.
The equalizer came courtesy of Austin Odhiambo, who won and converted a penalty.
Stars then held firm, even surviving a late VAR-overturned decision that would have handed Angola a dramatic winner.
