Posta Rangers head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo has disclosed the game changers behind the team’s strong start to the 2025-2026 season.

The Mailmen have enjoyed a good start to the campaign, winning their two opening matches, a run that has placed them second on the log behind Shabana.

Posta staged a second-half comeback to record a 2-1 victory over Mathare United in the season's opener before beating giants Tusker FC with a similar score line last weekend.

Their form contrasts that of last season, where they endured a rough start and consistently failed to get positive results. In the end, they had to defend their top-flight status in the promotion/ relegation playoff.

Speaking after the team’s win over The Brewers on Saturday, 27 September at the Dandora Stadium, Pamzo shared two secrets behind their good run.

We have competition for places in the team. We have depth in the squad as I have players who can start the match and remain with some who are capable of being effective as substitutes,” opened up Pamzo.

The tactician also attributed the great start to a relatively younger squad this campaign.

Posta attracted exciting and young talents during the off-season transfer window, unlike in the past, where the club went for experienced legs.

I also have younger players with a mean age of below 25 years, unlike last season when our mean age was above 30 and caused us to crack, especially in the second half due to fatigue,” he added.

Pamzo went on to reveal the instructions he gave his players in their tie against Tusker, who are his former employers.

“I told them to just go out on the field, implement the game plan, and enjoy themselves. I currently have players who enjoy being in possession as opposed to long balls and power play," he stated.

With Tusker threatening to equalize in the second half, the 55-year-old introduced Harambee Stars defender Musa Mohammed for a winger, shifting from a back four to a back five.

I liked the defensive block that we had, especially when they played more directly. I introduced Musa so that we could be compact by having three center backs and also benefit from his leadership,” he added..
