The two face a baptism of fire with the team meeting record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia in their next outing

Sammy Pamzo Omollo and Musa Otieno have hit the ground running at their new work station following their appointment as head coach and assistant coach respectively at Football Kenya Premier League side Kenya Police.

The two took charge of the club's training session on Thursday, taking the team through the paces in readiness for their match against Gor Mahia over the weekend.

On top of being experienced coaches, the two were top defenders in their playing days and will be hoping to improve the team's backline that has conceded in 16 out of the 21 matches they have played this season despite having two of the best defenders in the country in recent times in Harun Shakava and Musa Mohammed.

Police parted ways with former head coach John Bobby Ogolla and technical director Lukas Tott in a shakeup aimed at improving the team’s performance in the league this season, the changes coming on the back of a seven-game winless streak.

The side has been without a win since mid-January when they last won as they beat Mathare United, drawing five times and losing twice in their last seven outings in the league.

The dismissal of the duo and the subsequent appointment of Pamzo and Musa Otieno comes on the back of Tuesday’s one-all draw against KCB at Kasarani Annex.

Ogola joined Police in July 2021 and helped the team earn promotion to the top tier through playoffs and helped the team find its footing after a difficult start to life in the top tier, seeing the team go for ten games unbeaten at some point before the entry of Tott whose arrival coincided with the winless run.
