The Nigerian also talked about Saudi Arabia offer during the last transfer window

The last transfer window brought a revolution in the world of football. A number of big stars have gone to Saudi Arabia from Europe, but there are few who have refused to move to the Middle East. One of them is Victor Osimhen. When Al-Hilal were looking for a striker, they set their sights on the Nigerian who exploded last season for Napoli. The offer reached up to 200,000,000 euros, and the president of the Italian champions, Aurelio de Laurentiis, refused.

On one hand, Osimhen was bound by a firm contact, but on the other, he didn’t want to go either.

What was said is true. I have to be honest, I never thought about leaving last summer because Napoli wanted to keep me, but when the offer came from Saudi Arabia, a huge offer, it was hard to refuse. I spoke to Napoli and decided to stay. It was crazy… The more I said no, the more they increased the financial offer. It would have changed my life, they never gave up. But I said, no guys, I’m staying” admitted Osimhen to John Obi Mikel on the ‘Obi One Podcast.

The Nigerian confirmed he attends to play in Europe in the near future.

Of course. I had talks in August, it was a huge decision for me to make. I spoke to Napoli, and we decided together to refuse. I didn’t want people to think I wanted to leave. It was a positive decision for my career. As much as you play football for money, there is also so much more to it” said the striker.

Osimhen again confirmed his love for the Premier League but said he doesn’t have a favourite club after Obi Mikel jokingly offered to be his agent when he moves to Chelsea. Still, he has two shirts…

I don’t have a favourite Premier League club, but I have two shirts: Chelsea and Manchester United. Many of my friends are Chelsea fans, a few Man United. The Premier League is the most popular league for any African player, it’s a great league” explained the Nigerian.
