Onyango came on as a stoppage time sub for his second Premier League appearance.

Harambee Stars prospect Tyler Onyango came off the bench in stoppage time for his second English Premier League (EPL) appearance against Chelsea on Thursday evening as Everton played out to a one-all draw at Stamford Bridge.

The youngster, who made his debut last month against Manchester City was overlooked in recent games by coach Rafael Benitez before he got recalled on Thursday by the Spanish tactician. He came on as a late sub as Everton bounced back from Weekend’s defeat to Crystal Palace to salvage a point at the Bridge.

Onyango, just like on his debut against Man City was introduced in stoppage time for Anthony Gordon and barely had a touch of the ball before referee Michael Oliver brought the proceedings to a halt.

The game was wholly dominated by the hosts with Everton just surviving throughout the game. The visitors were lucky to go into the break level. The Blues finally got their goal 20 minutes from time through Mason Mount but their joy lasted for just four minutes before rookie defender Jarrad Branthwaite bagged the equalizer.

The draw sees Everton retain their 14th spot in the log while the Blues remain third with 37 points. Onyango, born to a Kenyan dad and a British mum in England has turned out for England youth teams and is still eligible for the national team, Harambee Stars.
