"One more year, Casemiro", fans chanted - Man Utd boardroom don't think so

The verdict is reached at Old Trafford
Manchester United have no plans to reconsider their decision to release Casemiro at the end of the season - despite the midfielder's impressive late run of form.
The 34-year-old Brazilian revealed in January that he would leave Old Trafford when his £350,000-a-week contract expires this July. United had already decided not to trigger the extension clause, allowing the former Real Madrid star to depart on a free transfer.
Even though Casemiro has produced a string of strong performances since then, the club's stance remains unchanged as part of a wider effort to reshape the squad and reduce costs.
Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe previously expressed surprise at Casemiro's £18.2 million annual salary and has made cutting expenses a key part of United's restructuring plans.
The club also sought clarity early in the process to continue its long-term rebuild, while Casemiro asked that the news be made public to avoid speculation later in the season.
Since that announcement, however, the midfielder has responded in style.
He scored his seventh goal of the campaign - six of them headers - in Sunday's match against Aston Villa, opening the scoring before celebrating in front of the Stretford End while pointing repeatedly to the club badge.
The crowd responded with chants of "One more year, Casemiro", repeating them again, at full-time as the Brazilian walked towards the tunnel.
Captain Bruno Fernandes and defender Leny Yoro both admitted afterwards that they would like to see the veteran remain at the club.
However, sources say there will be no late change of heart from United. Interim head coach Michael Carrick also hinted that the decision is final.
"When something is decided, it makes it easier because everyone understands the situation," Carrick said. "The impact he's had has been terrific, with his influence in the team and the big moments and goals.
"And there was a nice moment with the supporters at the end. He'll enjoy that."
