The on-song Harambee Stars striker was once again the difference maker as the Kitwe-based giants secured their second consecutive three goal margin win in a week while extending their lead at the summit of the league standings.

Shumah, who joined the Zambian champions from Kakamega Homeboyz at the start of the season, opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a composed finish to hand Dynamos an early advantage in what was shaping up to be a tightly contested encounter.

However, the hosts responded strongly.

The nine-time ZSL champions restored parity three minutes past the half-hour mark when Amine Hiver rose highest inside the area to power home a header for the equaliser.

Hiver was not done yet. The forward struck again seven minutes later to complete a swift turnaround, giving Zesco a 2-1 lead heading into the break and leaving the defending champions with work to do in the second half.

Upon resumption, Power Dynamos emerged with renewed urgency.

Their pressure paid off five minutes past the hour mark, when Shumah once again demonstrated his aerial prowess, towering above the Zesco defence to thunder a header past goalkeeper Philip Sakauta and restore parity for the visitors.

With the match seemingly destined to end in a stalemate, the reigning Football Kenya Federation Premier League Golden Boot winner produced the decisive match winning moment.

Ten minutes from time, Shumah completed his hat-trick with a clinical finish that sealed a remarkable comeback victory for the Aba Yellow.

The treble marked Shumah’s maiden hat-trick in the Zambian top flight and capped a sensational week in which he also scored twice in Dynamos’ 3–1 victory over Green Buffaloes.

His latest heroics take his tally to 12 league goals, placing him firmly at the top of the Golden Boot race in his debut season.

More importantly, the victory propelled Power Dynamos to 48 points at the summit of the table, opening a commanding five-point cushion as they edge closer to successfully defending their league crown.
