Burly Kakamega Homeboyz holding midfielder Francis Omondi is currently riding on a moment of fame after his picture captured while taking the coronavirus test went viral.

Omondi who is regarded as a bully on the pitch was subdued and humbled by the rather uncomfortable procedure of harvesting swabs with the medics forced to pin him down to complete the exercise.

Hardly days after the exercise, the midfielder has come out to reveal his targets ahead of the much awaited resumption of the top flight matches.

Omondi who joined Homeboyz at the start of the season from Mathare United said he was targeting to find the back of the net at least five times from open play.

The former Modern Coast Rangers midfielder was the designated penalty taker at Mathare United before running his contract out with the struggling club which finds itself languishing deep in the red zone.

He however said he was looking forward to pounce on scoring chances especially from dead balls and hit the target which he observed was lofty.

"I will be eyeing at least five goals once the league resumes. I don't want to score from the spot but from open play since there was another penalty taker at the club before I arrived," he said

Besides setting the goal target, Omondi disclosed that he was pursuing to beat the competition in the midfield and command consistent playing time.

Before the league was adjourned, he had made it to the starting team twice against Bandari and his former employer, Mathare.

" I did not enjoy sufficient playing time as I was adapting to Homeboyz's philosophy. I have been working hard hoping to seal a place in the starting team," he said.
