Speaking to the press after the match, the 18-year-old expressed his delight and revealed his touching dedication.
“I dedicate the goal to my parents, who are ailing and have all been supportive of our careers and wish them a speedy recovery.
It was a good feeling and a dream come true to score in this competition. I just instinctively thought of hitting it on the first touch as it came, and luckily everything went well,” said Omala.

The former Kenya U20 striker also opened up on the opportunity to play with his elder brother, Benson Omala, for the first time, following his introduction at half-time after signing for the club on Thursday, 22 January.
“It was an honour to play alongside him. That was one of my childhood dreams, to play alongside him as a professional footballer, and I think it will be an encouragement to us at the club as we push each other,” he added.
Additionally, the wonderkid also expressed confidence in Naibois’ ability to turn fortunes and advance to the quarter final.
“Every day is a learning day in this competition. We gave our best but unfortunately lost the match. However, we will keep fighting for as long as we have the chance to do so,” he concluded.
