Harambee Stars forward Benson Omala has officially joined Cambodian Premier League side Visakha FC, signing a three-year contract following his recent departure from Kenyan giants Gor Mahia.
The move sees Omala embark on yet another chapter in his professional career, just days after bringing his third stint at K'Ogalo to an end.

The 23-year-old forward has long been regarded as one of Kenya’s most promising attacking talents, and his latest move represents a renewed attempt to establish himself on the international stage.
Omala's journey to Cambodia comes after a challenging and brief spell with Lebanese Premier League outfit Al Safa, which he joined in August 2024 off the back of a stellar FKF Premier League campaign in which he clinched the Golden Boot with 19 goals
However, his time in Lebanon was cut short due to political instability and financial irregularities, including unpaid wages that arose following military strikes in October 2024.
Citing FIFA regulations that allow players to terminate contracts if unpaid for two consecutive months, Omala opted to leave the troubled club and return home.
Upon receiving the International Transfer Certificate (ITC) Omala rejoined Gor Mahia, but struggled to replicate his previous form
He managed just two goals in the Mozzart Bet Cup, with two coming in the league as Gor Mahia endured a disappointing season, missing out on the FKF-PL title to Kenya Police FC and falling to a 2-1 defeat to Nairobi United in the domestic cup, ending their nine-year trophy streak.
This transfer to Visakha FC marks Omala’s fourth attempt to carve out a professional path abroad.
In 2021, he was loaned to Swedish third-tier side FC Linköping City following a breakout debut season in the FKF Premier League, but failed to securea permanent deal.
A subsequent deal to Algerian club JS Saoura collapsed in 2023 due to paperwork delays.
Having first joined Gor Mahia in the 2020–21 season, Omala’s impact at the club was undeniable.
He scored 45 goals during his spells with the record Kenyan champions, helping them to consecutive league titles and earning individual recognition with the Golden Boot accolade.
