Duhail will have to beat Iranian side Persepolis and Istiklol from Tajikistan by big margins so as to remain in the competition.

Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga registered an assist in Al Duhail’s 3-21 fall to Al Nassr in an Asian Champions League match played at the Khalifa International Stadium on Tuesday night.

The defeat to Nassr who didn’t have Cristiano Ronaldo on the pitch limits Duhail’s chances of advancing further in the competition as they remained rooted at the bottom of group E with a point from four matches.

Duhail had a bright start in the game as Olunga put Brazilian attacking midfielder Phillippe Coutinho through in the eighth minute.

However, the visiting Saudi Arabian side leveled matters in the 28th minute through Anderson Souza alias Talisca who scored after Mohammed Ghareeb set him up.

Nassr gained full control of the game and would take the lead in the 37th minute through Souza with Sadio Mane being the provider.

Saouza sealed his hat-trick and match-day ball after kissing the back of the net in the 65th minute.

Duhail threw everything at the Nassr goal in a bid to salvage at least a point from the game but the rock-solid defense mounted by the visitors was equal to the task.

Coutinho halved the deficit for Duhail in the 80th minute from the spot setting up an interesting finish as the host fought tooth and nail so as to restore parity.

Duhail finished with ten men after Khaled Saleh was sent off in the 90+2nd minute for violent conduct.

Duhail will have to beat Iranian side Persepolis and Istiklol from Tajikistan by big margins so as to remain in the competition.
