Nairobi United kicked off their first season in the National Super League with a 2-0 win over Kibera Black Stars
Nairobi United head coach Paul Okatwa is hoping to register a second in their debut National Super League season when they host Kisumu All Stars this weekend at the Kasarani Annex.
United, floored Kibera Black Stars 2-0 in the season's opener last Sunday at the Ligi Ndogo grounds and, will seek to pick maximum points against All Stars, who were held to a one all draw at home against Silibwet Leons.
"We started the first half a bit sluggish but grew into the game minute by minute and that showed we have ability to get better in the league as we tackle more matches," said the former Gor Mahia striker.
The former Kangemi All Stars tactician, is determined to strangle All Stars who have had a major rebuild this window and pick maximum points for a second consecutive game.
Okatwa, said the confidence derived from game one, will go a long way in inspiring the playing unit to give their best and win the game as well as achieve the set targets.
"Our technical bench is preparing for nothing but all three points. The first game instilled confidence in us that we are competitive and can do just like the big boys in the league. I am sure we will get a huge win this Sunday," offered the youthful expert.
Addressing the team's frontline that wasted clear cut chances especially in the first half, Okatwa noted that his bench was working on the same as he aims to win the following matches in a convincing way.
"We are engaging our attackers in training drills this week to make sure they find their shooting boots before the weekend. I trust in them and sooner goals will flood in this team," concluded the 2013 Kenya Premier League winner with Gor.
