NSL: Darajani Gogo plotting for Mombasa Stars downfall in round two

The team lost its opening game against Rainbow FC 1-0 at the Kasarani Annex last weekend.

Darajani Gogo head coach Caleb Aringa is hoping to register the first win in the new National Super League season when they host Mombasa Stars this weekend in Nairobi.

Gogo lost the season's opener 1-0 to debutants Rainbow FC last Saturday at the Kasarani Annex and will take on the coastal side looking to gather maximum points for the first time in the season.

Aringa attributed the loss to lack of cutting edge in the final third, as he observed that the team created chances but couldn't make them count.

"We had a slow start but we will definitely bounce back. We could have won our first game but our attack line failed to utilize the chances," said Aringa.

The tactician, who has already put behind the performance and result of the first game, said the team is determined to skin Mombasa Stars who previously operated as Coastal Heroes and pick maximum points.

Stars will also be looking to redeem themselves after falling 1-0 to Mara Sugar in front of their fans.

"We are preparing for nothing short of three points. The first game gave us the chance to spot the weak areas which we have been working on. I am sure we will get a big win this weekend," he expressed his confidence.

Meanwhile, Aringa regretted that the team was struggling to find a suitable ground to host their home matches following the closure of Camp Toyoyo.

Last season, the club used Toyoyo for home matches, but will have to look for alternatives after the facility was declared unfit to host second tier matches.

With match day fast-approaching, Aringa revealed that they were yet to identify and book a facility to host the game.

"The biggest challenge teams from Nairobi West are facing is lack of facilities. Nyayo is too expensive and sometimes is unavailable. Tens of teams from this side have had to scramble for Ligi Ndogo, Hope Centre and Impala which are privately owned and may be unavailable at the hour of need," he opened up.
