MOFA head into the encounter under mounting pressure following a frustrating 1-1 draw against Luanda Villa, a result that dealt a blow to their promotion ambitions.

The Charles Bruno-coached side, currently sixth on 49 points, find themselves at a critical juncture in the season.

With just ten matches remaining, every point has become invaluable in the race for a top-three finish and automatic promotion.

Victory on Tuesday would see MOFA move to a point within the top three bracket, while also maintaining contact with league leaders Migori Youth and Mombasa United, who sit six points ahead.

However, any further slip-up could significantly dent the Harambee Stars captain-backed side’s promotion charge, piling more pressure on a team that has shown flashes of brilliance but struggled for consistency in recent weeks.

Despite their superior standing, MOFA face a stern test against a rejuvenated MCF side that has rediscovered belief at a crucial stage of the campaign.

The Ndalani-based outfit have enjoyed a remarkable turnaround, going unbeaten in their last three matches.

Consecutive victories over fellow relegation-threatened sides Kabati Youth and Kisumu All Stars, followed by a goalless draw against bottom-placed Vihiga United, have breathed new life into their survival bid.

That resurgence has seen Francis Chege’s charges climb off the foot of the table, rising two places to 21 points.

While they remain firmly in the relegation dogfight, MCF are beginning to show the resilience and determination required to escape the drop.

A positive result against MOFA would further bolster their chances, potentially moving them to 24 points and narrowing the gap to safety to just five points.

Adding further intrigue to the encounter is MCF’s narrow 1-0 victory in the reverse fixture, a result that MOFA will be eager to avenge.

The prospect of completing a season double will undoubtedly motivate the visitors, while the hosts will be equally driven to assert their superiority and keep their promotion hopes alive.
