Elsewhere, Naivas FC host 3K FC in another high-stakes duel.
At the opposite end of the table, a tense relegation battle will see Mwatate United take on Vihiga United.
In Murang’a, table-toppers Migori Youth will be seeking to tighten their grip at the summit when they face a struggling Kabati Youth side in a clash defined by contrasting ambitions.
Buoyed by back-to-back victories, a commanding 3-0 win over Luanda Villa followed by a hard-fought 1-0 triumph against Naivas, Migori have rediscovered momentum at a critical juncture of the season.
Another win would not only extend their streak to three but also potentially open a crucial gap at the top, especially with close rivals Mombasa United not in action until Sunday.
However, head coach Sammy Otulo will once again be without key forward Syphas Otieno, who remains sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained during the clash against Mwatate United.
Despite the setback, the soft-spoken tactician expressed confidence in his squad while acknowledging the unpredictable nature of the league.
“We are well prepared for the task, and the focus is to secure maximum points. However, we are aware of the unpredictability of the league, especially when facing teams near the bottom who can always cause an upset.
We must remain cautious to avoid any setbacks at this stage of the season. As for Syphas, it’s a big blow, but we hope to have him back soon,” Otulo noted.
Club captain Kelly Otieno echoed the ambition within the squad, highlighting the broader regional desire to see top-flight football restored.
“The hunger to have a team from this region back in the top tier has been a major motivation behind our run. We are going all out for maximum points to move closer to realizing that dream,” he stated.
Migori will also be keen to avenge their first-leg encounter, where Kabati held them to a 1-1 draw.
Yet, they face a determined Kabati side fighting for survival in their debut NSL campaign.
The Thika-based outfit, currently entrenched in the relegation zone with 27 points, have endured a difficult season marked by inconsistency, including 15 defeats.
Following the recent departure of head coach Haji Bilali, Kabati will be seeking a fresh start as they aim to mount a late survival push.
A victory on Saturday could see them climb out of the relegation zone, underlining the high stakes surrounding the fixture.
At Mashuuru Grounds, third-placed Equity FC face fourth-placed Michael Olunga Football Academy in a tantalizing promotion showdown.
Equity, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Gucha Stars last weekend, will be eager to return to winning ways and strengthen their promotion bid.
Sitting third, just three points behind second-placed Mombasa United and five adrift of Migori, the bankers know victory could significantly boost their standing.
On the other hand, MOFA come into the clash on the back of an emphatic 3-0 victory over Mully Children Family, a result that reignited their push for promotion.
Head coach Charles Bruno admitted that inconsistency has been a key challenge for his side.
“Our inconsistency has been a major concern. We haven’t been getting results as expected, which has affected our position. Going forward, we are determined to address this and remain consistent in the remaining matches,” he said.
With MOFA sitting fourth on 52 points, a win would see them leapfrog Equity and re-enter the automatic promotion spots, setting up what promises to be a fiercely contested encounter.
Meanwhile, at KHIBT grounds in Ngong, Naivas FC will host 3K FC in another critical fixture.
Naivas, coming off a disappointing outing in Awendo that ended their four-match unbeaten run, will be desperate to bounce back and keep their fading promotion hopes alive.
However, they face a formidable 3K side currently enjoying a rich vein of form.
The Embu-based outfit are unbeaten in eight matches, winning seven of those, and will be aiming to extend that impressive run as they strengthen their promotion credentials.
Victory could see them climb back into the top three, depending on other results.
At Wundanyi Stadium, the spotlight shifts to the relegation battle where Mwatate United host Vihiga United in a high-stakes six-pointer.
Sitting second from bottom and bottom respectively with 21 and 20 points, both sides are in urgent need of victory to revive their survival hopes.
Mwatate recently parted ways with head coach Evans Mafuta, appointing James Tole alongside assistant Dairus Mwale to steer the team through the remainder of the campaign.
A win for either side would provide a crucial boost in their fight against the drop.
Elsewhere, Nairobi City Stars will face Gucha Stars as both teams seek to end their respective winless runs.
