Gogo snatched the win in dramatic fashion, with Edwin Ouko striking in the 89th minute to hand coach Andrea Ongwae’s side all three points.

Gogo had a golden chance to take the lead earlier in the second half, but goalkeeper Sebastian Monio produced a crucial save from the spot in the 70th minute.

The win which is Gogo’s fourth of the campaign after eight matches, lifts the Kibra-based outfit to sixth place on 14 points.

They sit six points behind leaders Migori Youth and four behind 3K FC, who currently occupy the final promotion slot.

More importantly, the result continues Gogo’s growing momentum under Ongwae.

They have now gone three matches unbeaten, responding well after their 2-1 loss to Mombasa United.

Gogo followed the defeat with a barren draw against Mwatate United, before edging noisy neighbours Kibera Black Stars 1-0 in last weekend’s derby.

For Soy United, the defeat compounds a worrying run of form.

The Likuyani-based side has now gone three matches without a win and has suffered three losses in their last five games.

The FKF Division One Zone B runners-up fell 2-1 to Naivas before losing by the same margin to FC Talanta last weekend.

Soy sit 14th on eight points, just four above the relegation zone seven matches into the season, piling pressure on coach Jeffers Odongo as he seeks to arrest the slump.

Meanwhile, 3K FC head coach Francis Chege has backed his side to maintain their impressive form following their narrow 1-0 victory over Gucha Stars.

His side now prepares to face Soy United next weekend in what he expects to be a stern test.

“It will be our first encounter. They are a good team with technical players, so it promises to be a very tough assignment,” Chege said. “But we have to make our chances count if we want to get points from Eldoret.”
