The win was Naibois second of the season and places them at the helm of Naational Super League standings

Nairobi United head coach Paul Okatwa was left impressed with the performance of his players in the second match of the 2023-2024 National Super League season.

The league newcomers registered a second win in a row dismantling former Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Kisumu All Stars 2-0 on Sunday at the Kasarani Annex with new acquisition Henry Omolo and Brian Lisamuka on target.

The former Kangemi All Stars coach singled out his attack line for putting in their best in the game and winning the three points as a push for automatic promotion gains momentum though claims it is still early for the elevation discussion.

It was a good game, and I think for 85% of the game we were on top of things. We ran the show, scored two goals, and I am happy with how we performed overall. I must commend the boys for putting in a shift throughout to see us get three points. Our attackers were lethal in the match while all players were simply outstanding," he said.

I was impressed by my front three, they gave everything on the field to ensure we break the stubborn Otenga backline.

However, it was a good test for us and we will be working on some of the stuffs we learnt to perfect this young team,” he added.

The former Sofapaka striker also noted a few areas of concern that his charges have to deal with if they want to perfect their run in what is regarded as the toughest league in Kenya.

That is not to mean that we were perfect; far from it. It gave us a picture of areas that we must work on; there are drawbacks we noticed that we will try to address at the training ground because if we do not, they may prove costly in the next game or future assignments,” he explained.

Next for the Naibois is a trip to the dreaded Cardinal Otunga Highschool grounds for Gusii FC duel on Saturday.

The gaffer admitted that Kisii was not a favorable ground to hunt for points but remained adamant that it was possible to get maximum points with good preparations.

"We are working hard to polish some areas that we were short in as earlier indicated. You can't risk going to Kisii when you're ill-prepared," added Okatwa.
