Nairobi United have a 100% record.

Former Premier League side Mathare United registered their first second-tier campaign win after overcoming newly re-named Mulembe FC (Formerly Vihiga United) at the Police Pavilion grounds on Sunday afternoon.

Last week, United played out to a barren draw with Migori Youth while Mulembe went down 2-1 at home to Kaiado FC, who now have a 100% record after beating MCF on Match Day two.

Mark Khadohi and Meshack Ochieno scored the goals for the Slum Boys. Kendrick Onzere scored what proved to be a consolation goal for the visitors.

At the Awendo Green Stadium, Mara Sugar and Migori Youth FC played to a one-all draw. Lucky Musyoka gave Migori a first-half lead before Philemon Nyakwaka earned Mara a point with a late second goal.

At the Mumias Sports Complex, Vihiga Bullets and Dimba Patriots shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Lawrence Ouma opened the scoring for the Bullets before earning the Patriots a point with a late leveler.

At the Kasarani Annex, Nairobi United recorded their second straight win after overcoming the Kisumu All-Stars 2-0. New acquisition Henry Omolo and Brian Lisamuka got the goals for Naibois.

Coach Paul Okatwa is impressed by his charges but admits that there is still work to be done before his team becomes a perfect outfit.

“It was a good game, and I think for 85% of the game we were on top of things. We ran the show, scored two goals, and I am happy with how we performed overall,” he said. “That is not to mean that we were perfect; far from it. It gave us a picture of areas that we must work on; there are drawbacks we noticed that we will try to address at the training ground because if we do not, they may prove costly in the next game or future assignments,” he added.
